Sachiel Connect has a long-standing relationship with Dutchman’s Gold, an Ontario honey producer. Following the initial connection, Sachiel and Dutchman’s underwent discussions regarding honey market trends and Chinese consumer’s demand for honey. After these discussions, a test sample was sent to China and upon its success Sachiel began to export larger orders. In addition, there was a collective process to achieving the appropriate packaging and labeling for the honey products.
Dutchman’s Gold has been successful in China due to Sachiel’s expertise as well as market trends. China consumes large amounts of honey annually and due to recent issues of poor-quality products, Chinese consumers have been increasingly buying foreign honey. Dutchman’s Gold continues to be exported to China and as with all of Sachiel’s suppliers, there is continuous collaboration on how to improve and innovate products and brands.
Sachiel Water is Sachiel’s own brand and is sourced and packaged in British Columbia. The water source was selected based on its taste, low TDS level, and pH value. In the initial stages of development, online and offline promotions were used in China to test the market. Once Sachiel Water was able to develop some consumer recognition and have agents connect with the brand, exporting began. Distributional channels in China include: supermarkets, hotels and restaurants.
